Free and PlusGood things to ask first
Is it safe?
Before anything changes, you see the list and can skip anything. SimplifyPC makes a Windows restore point first and remembers every original setting, so one click on Undo puts things back. It never touches your photos, documents or email.
Can I undo the changes?
Yes. Settings, shortcuts and Start menu pins all come back with Undo. Programs that were uninstalled (junk apps, old antivirus) are not restored by Undo, but they can be reinstalled for free.
How long does it take?
A few minutes. The full Plus setup (57 changes, including downloading and installing the browser) took about two minutes on our test PC. You can leave the computer alone while it works, and each change ticks off as it's done.
Does it remove Edge?
No. Windows needs Edge, so it stays installed. SimplifyPC quiets it down, takes it off the desktop and taskbar, and with Plus installs Chrome or Firefox for you. Windows requires you to click the final "make this my default browser" choice yourself, and the app takes you straight to that page.
What about the antivirus that came with my PC?
Plus tries to remove trial antivirus programs like Norton or McAfee and keeps Windows Defender on. Some of these resist being removed automatically. If that happens, the app tells you exactly which one is left and where to remove it.
Why did Windows show a warning when I opened it?
New programs from small makers often get a "Windows protected your PC" notice until they are recognised or digitally signed. The release version will be signed.
Will Windows undo my changes after an update?
Occasionally a big Windows update brings a setting back. If so, open SimplifyPC and press Start again. It only does what is needed.
Does it work on Windows 10?
SimplifyPC is built for Windows 11, which is what new PCs come with.
SimplifyPC is almost ready.
